Started Web II a few weeks ago; had a little trouble getting back into things, but it all came back pretty quickly. The CSS tutorials helped quite a bit in getting me back into Dreamweaver and CSS. This semester I plan on learning a lot more about how to create websites or at least elements in flash that can be incorporated into an html site. I also want to look into Javascript and other coding that can give the same type of feel of Flash. I’m also looking forward to the client project in order to become more familiar with working with a client. I think this is a really beneficial part of the class, because it will give us an idea of how it would be to work with a client in the real world.
It might be kind of difficult to work on multiple projects at once, especially since I am in 414 as well, and I will be working on 2-3 projects at once just in that class alone. Time management will be key this semester for sure!

We have been working on Project three for a bit now and we have a pretty good handle on it. Last Thursday we had our client pitches and ours went pretty well. Our idea was well received and we were given a lot of good ideas to improve our site. Corky will soon be a big success! Last class we spent working on our individual process sites. I’m almost done with the initial layout and then I just need to fill in the content. I have almost mastered overlapping div tags, but I am having a little bit of an issue, which hopefully I will be able to figure out tonight.
After tomorrow most of my hectic stuff of the semester will be over with. Just a couple tests and I’ll be done for the semester. Then one more to go and I’m completely done with school…Woo!

Project 2 is now finished, online, and critiqued. I am happy with the final product, but there are some things I would change when reworking it. Learning a better way to create the slideshow would definitely improve the look. I would also make the bottom navigation work with the drop downs by having them open upwards rather than down. Also some suggestions that I recieved for my website was to add some more color to the overall design. I would try to incorporate this into my design, but I like the simple, clean, sophisticated, and professional look of the black and tan colors.

Project 2 is going quite well. Once I had my paper done and my layer comps done in Photoshop putting my site together was quite simple. I have definatly gotten the hang of CSS. Tonight I decided to figure out how to make a drop down menu for my subnavigation. I looked for a tutorial on how to make drop down menus with rollover images and found some code which I inserted into my template. This was a bit complicated at first, but I got my navigation images inserted and after some help I got everything sorted out. Now I have to figure out what to do with the bottom navigation and change some of the pictures and my website it pretty much done.

Project 1 was a bit of a challange. I made the mistake of at first creating all the pages in Photoshop and using tables to assemble them in Dreamweaver. I also made the mistake of inserting all of my text into Photoshop and into the tables instead of inserting it into Dreamweaver seperately. I did this because I wasnted the text to wrap around the image, but I learned that that isnt very practical for web. I must be too used to doing things for print. For a redo I created one of the pages using CSS instead of tables. Since this project I have learned a bit more about using CSS and am working on my 10 page site.
