This shoot will forever hold a special place in my heart. Each year, typically around Mother’s Day, my brother, sister-in-law, and mom take a vacation together somewhere in the middle of where we all call home. We all share a love for the outdoors, so our destinations tend to revolve around places with good hiking and beautiful scenery. Leading up to this year’s trip, my sister-in-law, Valerie, asked if I’d take their maternity photos while we were together. Of course, the answer was an easy and enthusiastic yes!
After a few days exploring Denver, including a spontaneous concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater (bucket list venue – HIGHLY recommend), and celebrating not one but two amazing moms, we set out early on our final full day in town for the shoot. We’d picked William Frederick Hayden Park on Green Mountain based on a recommendation and a little research of our own, and it ended up being a great choice. We hiked nearly an hour to find the perfect spot and ended up in a beautiful open area scattered with wildflowers surrounded by mountain views.
Capturing this moment for Brandon and Valerie, during a trip that already holds so much meaning for our family, was something I’ll never forget. It was more than a photo session—it was a pause in time, a celebration of what’s to come, and a quiet reflection on how love grows. I’m so grateful I got to document the beginning of this next chapter for them, and I can’t wait to welcome and shower their little one with love. 💛
Valerie was an absolute champ—eight months pregnant, hiking with ease, and somehow not even breaking a sweat. She looked stunning in the teal dress she chose, which complemented the wildflowers and soft, earthy tones of the landscape around us so beautifully.
Congratulations Val & Brandon! ✨
I’m so excited to watch you both grow into the incredible parents I know you’re meant to be. And I truly can’t wait to meet and spoil the newest little member of our family. 🍼💙💕
